1. What is the difference between a cell phone hotspot and weBBoat 4G Lite?

The cellular and Wi-Fi signals strength are increased, you can share the internet connection with a higher number of devices and can connect to an external Wi-Fi network (such as Marina Wi-Fi) to save cellular data.

2. What is the range for weBBoat 4G Lite?

According the test result, the range is around 15 mile away from the coast. Remember that the signal quality and the strength are affected also by many factors like weather, distance, obstacles etc.

3. How many devices may I connect to weBBoat 4G Lite?

You can connect up to 24 devices to your weBBoat 4G Lite while the connection limit is between 3 to 5 devices at a time with cell phone internet sharing.

4. What type of SIM card do I have to use?

weBBoat 4G Lite uses mini SIM card. If you have a smaller SIM card (Micro or Nano) than Mini-SIM card, you need to use a SIM adapter.

5. How do I mount the antenna?

weBBoat 4G Lite comes with a universal mount (1”x14 standard thread) for boat / RV vehicles already included in the pack. If you need different type of mounting you can check Glomex web site (http://www.glomex.it and http://www.glomex.us) to choose the suitable one for you.

6. Where to install weBBoat 4G Lite?

weBBoat 4G Lite should be installed far away from metal obstructions that can affect the signal quality. Do not install the weBBoat 4G Lite on top of the masthead.

7. What can I do if my APN is not listed?

If you think you have the proper APN of your Internet Service Provider, you can always insert it by using the Custom APN button. Please advise us at webboat@glomex.it to add the missing APN you need. If you still have problems please contact us at webboat@glomex.it for assistance.

9. There is a local network but I am still using 4G connection?

Please remember that weBBoat 4G Lite is equipped with Autoswitch function that allows you to switch automatically from Wi-Fi to cellular connection or vice versa. This function is set disabled by default. Please enable it from “Setup wizard” or “Mobile configuration” settings.

10. Can I change the network name?

It is highly recommended that you change the Wi-Fi network name and especially password for the network from Wi-Fi configuration page. Do not use spaces or special characters in the name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID) and password.

11. How to upgrade my firmware version?

You do not need to look for anything. When firmware or APN list updates are available, they will appear as an Upgrade Button in the “System Updates” menu. Just push “Upgrade” button to perform the upgrade and wait for a few minutes.

8. Does it work everywhere?

Yes it works worldwide for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) area / Korea / Thailand for cellular network only.

12. I have difficulty connecting the antenna to the internet and connecting to the wi-fi generated by the weBBoat. What can be the cause?

Sometimes the cause can be two different devices with DHCP enabled. If you activate DHCP on weBBoat it is necessary to check that any access points or network devices have DHCP deactivated.
